Tokyo Table, Big Catch Seafood Open at Alhambra Place

December 16, 2016

The city’s new shopping center at the heart of its downtown area is nearing capacity with the openings of two new restaurants, a significant change after the previous center suffered from vacant storefronts for years.

Last week, Cajun-style restaurant Big Catch Seafood celebrated its grand opening, and Japanese family-style restaurant Tokyo Table is now open.

The two will fill out Alhambra Place’s restaurant roster, said Kiril McKee, senior vice president of retail leasing for Shea Properties, the developer that rebuilt the shopping center from the ground up.
“Big Catch Seafood House and Tokyo Table will really help complete the corner of Main and Garfield in downtown Alhambra bringing new energy and nightlife options,” McKee said.

While it no longer has space for more new restaurants, Alhambra Place still has two retail vacancies.

The shopping center is home to Sprouts Farmers Market, Burlington, Bank of the West, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, The Habit Burger Grill, Maido Stationary, Verizon 4G Wireless, JJ Bakery, Clear Sight Optometry, Vidorra and Wingstop.

Alhambra Place has been a “great” addition to Downtown Alhambra since businesses first opened their doors there in 2015, said Tu De Vera, president of the Downtown Alhambra Business Association.

“I am constantly shopping and eating in one of the businesses there almost every other day,” De Vera said. “It’s bringing more attention to the Downtown Alhambra area where now we have almost everything one would need in one centralized area.”
